We strongly recommend that you take the cable-car, which
operates subject to weather conditions, to the top of Table Mountain,
and also travel over to Robben Island by boat from the V&A Waterfront.
Having landed on the island you will be taken on a fascinating tour of
the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for over 25 years.
City
and Museums Tour
You will be collected from your hotel and taken on a walking tour of the
historic centre of Cape Town, including the Castle of Good Hope, City
Hall and Grand Parade. A visit to District Six Museum gives a fascinating
glimpse into the workings of the Apartheid system. Next stop is the Cultural
History Museum before lunch in the Company Gardens. The afternoon is spent
on a walking tour of Bo-Kaap and a visit to the Bo-Kaap Museum for a taste
of Cape Malay culture.
Peninsula
Tour
Travel via Victoria Drive and Llandudno to picturesque Hout Bay fishing
harbour where you board your vessel for the Seal Island boat cruise. Travel
via Constantia Nek, Ou Kaapse Weg, Noordhoek and Scarborough to the Cape
of Good Hope National Park. See both Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope.
After lunch at the Cape, you enter the park and travel along the False
Bay coast to the African Penguin colony at Boulders. You continue on through
Simon's Town and through the Constantia Valley to Kirstenbosch National
Botanical Gardens. Here you will have 2 hours to discover the delights
of the gardens before being transferred back to your hotel in Cape Town.
Wine,
Birds and Gardens Tour
Travel to Hout Bay Harbour and board your vessel to cruise to the Cape
Fur Seal colony on Dassen Island. Afterwards you will be taken on a tour
of the World of Birds sanctuary in Hout Bay. Travel to Groot Constantia
for Lunch. You will tour the Manor House, which is home to the oldest
wine estate in South Africa, and sample some of their wines. A late afternoon
visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens is included.
